Holiday let... from £400 Per Week - Flats / Apartments
7 Douglas Court is a spacious beach front apartment with spectacular views over the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran.
This two bedroom first floor flat provides comfortable accommodation for four. Both the lounge and fully-equipped kitchen look out over the beach and beyond: relax on the chaise in the bay window or enjoy a coffee at the breakfast bar while watching the world go by and the ever-changing seascape.
Apart from the view, the lounge features ample seating, HD TV and a cosy fireplace with electric fire; its adjacent dining area has seating for six around a family dining table. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The large bathroom includes an oversize cast iron bath and separate walk-in shower. The entrance hallway has two good-sized storage cupboards. Outside, there are shared landscaped gardens and private parking.
The local shop is just two minutes’ walk away, as is the Barassie Chippy, legendary purveyor of seaside fish & chips for many years. Troon town centre (a 20 minute stroll along the seafront or a few minutes by car) offers supermarket and traditional high street shopping, with many unique wee shops which attract visitors from near and far. The town also has a fantastic range of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Troon is best known for golf – there are six golf courses in the town itself, including the world famous Royal Troon, host of many Open Championships – but it has other attractions too. Water sports are popular, with wind surfing and kite surfing almost every day off South Beach or Barassie Beach (in front of Douglas Court). Troon Yacht Haven is a 400 berth marina with an award-winning bar & restaurant open to the public. Nearby is Troon harbour, with its fishing fleet, lifeboat, resident seals and harbour-front fish restaurant. Troon Swimming Pool is open to visitors year-round. There are regular events and concerts at Troon Concert Hall. And there are miles and miles of varied seaside and country walks.
7 Douglas Court is easy to get to by road, rail, air or sea. Barassie station is just a short walk away, with regular direct train services to Glasgow and Ayr. Prestwick Airport is 10 minutes to the south; Glasgow Airport is only a 45 minute drive to the north. Troon also has a seasonal fast ferry service to Larne in Northern Ireland.
The small print: Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. Gas central heating. Free 50mb wi fi. Iron & ironing board. No smoking or pets. Sorry, the flat is upstairs so is not accessible by wheelchair.
